Long Beach Main Street fosters economic and community development by enhancing the city's historic charm, local businesses, and public spaces. Through engagement, pride, and quality design, Long Beach Main Street supports local leaders in creating a vibrant downtown and a thriving economy. By implementing the Main Street Approach and focusing on organization, design, promotion, and economic vitality, the program works to revitalize the community, attract investment, and ensure long-term success for businesses and residents alike.

Facade Grant Program

Mississippi Power Foundation and Long Beach Main Street have partnered to bring a new facade grant opportunity to Long Beach. This program helps property owners and tenants upgrade building exteriors within our Main Street districts. Grants spark economic vitality, preserve historic character, and encourage more investment in Long Beach.

Who can apply?

  • Business is an active Long Beach Main Street member and dues are current.

  • Applicant is the property owner OR commerical tenant

  • Property is current on all city and county taxes

Eligible Activities

  • Exterior restoration including:

    • Pressure washing

    • Window cleaning

    • Minor exterior repairs (e.g., brickwork, stucco, siding)

    • Exterior Painting

  • Lighting upgrades

    • Decorative lighting

    • Security lighting that improves visibility and pedestrian safety

  • Awning and canopy addition or restoration

  • Updated signage

    • New or updated window signage

    • New or updated exterior building signage (must comply with city ordinances)

  • Exterior murals (with pre-approval of concept and design)

  • Exterior Landscaping/Storefront planters

  • Improvements to doors, windows, and trim

    • Replacement or restoration of historically appropriate doors/windows

    • Painting or refinishing of trim and architectural details

  • Railings, ironwork, and architectural accents

    • Installation or restoration of balconies, cornices, handrails, columns, etc.

    • Restoration of original design features that contribute to historic integrity

Deadline to submit applications is December 30th at 5 PM
